The Chemistry Olympics includes 4 events that one or two members of the team participate in. Â Teams are given points based on how well their students perform and awards are presented to the top three students (i.e. gold, silver, and bronze) in each event a. Â The final event, Trivia, has the whole team participate together and contributes the final points to the team scores. Â The top three overall teams are given plaques to take back to their schools and the overall winning team also takes home the Loras College Chemistry Olympics traveling trophy. Â This trophy stays with the winning team to be defended in the next year’s competition. Â The current defending champions are the students of Dubuque Senior High School (back to back to back victories). Â Go Rams!
In addition to the trophies, medals, and glory for placing, students who win of their individual event win Loras college scholarships. Â All members of the overall winning team are awarded greater scholarships.
Below are summary score cards of previous years that detail the individual event winners and overall team placement.
